Forgotten goalkeeper Simon Mignolet posts about Liverpool season on Instagram
Despite being on the fringes of the Liverpool squad, Mignolet clearly feels strongly about the club’s success moving forward.
The Belgian also seems popular amongst the Liverpool fan-base and in his six years at the club he has made a strong connection with them.
Since joining from Sunderland in 2013 for £9m, the 31-year-old has made 204 appearances keeping 66 clean-sheets and made himself a hero on his debut with a penalty save to deny Jonathan Walters.
Mignolet was Liverpool’s established number one until the 2017/18 season after some high profile errors saw Loris Karius take his place.
Mignolet signed a brand-new five year deal in 2016, so it will be interesting to see if he stays at Liverpool and is content with a place on the bench or whether he decides to move on and seek first-team football.
His Instagram post, though, suggests that he’s happy to be part of the club for now.
