Crystal Palace fans must be waiting with bated breath right now, as last-minute transfer developments continue to filter out of Selhurst Park.

Eberechi Eze has already heartbreakingly left East London behind, with Marc Guehi perhaps the next high-profile departee, as his much-talked-about switch to Liverpool remains up in the air.

If Guehi were to go, it doesn’t have to be all bad news, with the Eagles now looking to rekindle their interest in a defensive titan just in time before 7pm’s cut-off.

Crystal Palace rekindle interest in £40m star

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles already look to have defensive recruits in mind, with Igor Julio expected to leave Brighton and Hove Albion behind to join the Seagulls’ Premier League arch rivals on a loan basis before the window slams shut.

He could be joined through the door by past Palace target Strahinja Pavlović, with Sky Sports, via Ed Aarons reporting that the AC Milan colossus remains the Eagles’ number one target at the back, having looked at the Serbian in January.

However, the £40m-rated centre-back was deemed too costly at the time, with a deal also looking difficult to execute in the here and now.

Yet, if Guehi were to finally uproot to Anfield, that might well accelerate this move forward.

Therefore, Pavlović swapping Italy for England at the final hour could be a move to keep an eye out on, with the Premier League side winning a dream replacement for their 6-foot titan in the process.

After all, if Guehi were to relocate to Arne Slot’s Reds shortly, he has at least exited Glasner’s Eagles on the best possible note, having caressed this effort home versus Aston Villa to secure a farewell 3-0 win.

Away from that moment of individual brilliance, Guehi has also been rock solid at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, with the captain leading by example when collecting two clean sheets from his side’s opening three league clashes, with an imposing four duels won on average.

Amazingly, Pavlovic actually bettered Guehi’s pass accuracy average last season in the hustle and bustle of Serie A action, with plenty of promising signs evident to suggest that the Serbian could fill the void left behind by the 25-year-old effectively.

It might just be too little too late for Palace if they want to get a statement deal over the line before 7pm, as Guehi’s switch to Liverpool perhaps goes down to the wire.

But, developments can suddenly spark into life on such a chaotic day, with Palace winning themselves a top deal at the death if Pavlovic does promptly swap Milan for London.

وقالت صحيفة “ستاندرد” الإنجليزية إن مانشستر سيتي تلقى خبرًا سارًا فيما يخص عمر مرموش وحالته البدنية في الوقت الحالي، مما يمثل دفعة قوية للجماهير.

وأوضحت أن مرموش تواجد في احتفالات منتخب مصر في استاد القاهرة، يوم الأحد الماضي، بمناسبة التأهل إلى بطولة كأس العالم نسخة 2026، حيث ظهر وهو يتلقى استقبالًا حارًا من جانب الجماهير.

وأفادت بأن اللافت في اللقطات هو أن مرموش كان يتحرك بدون عكازات، مما يشير إلى أن ركبته في وضع أفضل بكثير مقارنة بالشهر الماضي.

Despite being just 18-years-old, Lewis-Skelly burst on to the scene last season and fought his way into becoming one of Arteta’s first-choice left-backs with Riccardo Calafiori, thereby pushing established Premier League defender Oleksandr Zinchenko down the pecking order as a result.

Nwaneri, meanwhile, became the youngest Premier League player in history after making his debut in a 3-0 win over Brentford in 2022, with the sky appearing to be the limit for him.

Since then, the 18-year-old has racked up nine goals and two assists from 40 senior appearances under Arteta, and Arsenal initially hesitated over a deal for Eberechi Eze due to their desire for Nwaneri to be given more minutes this season (talkSPORT).

Nwaneri signed a new five-year contract at Arsenal in August, keeping him at the club until 2030, but the teenage talent now has another academy sensation to contend with for a place in the first-team.

That man is, of course, Dowman.

The 15-year-old became Arsenal’s second-youngest ever Premier League player behind Nwaneri after coming on in their 5-0 win over Leeds United last month, winning a penalty for summer signing Viktor Gyokeres to smash home.

Understandably, there is a lot of excitement around Dowman right now, and club legend Paul Merson insists he is just a “freak” for his age.

Still barely seen in the first team with just 27 minutes of competitive senior football to his name, former Arsenal keeper Graham Stack has now told Standard Sport that Dowman already reminds him of an England legend.

While this bold statement continues to pile on lofty praise for Arsenal’s latest starlet, it is important not to put too much pressure on Dowman at this very early stage of his career.

The attacking midfielder has displayed real signs of promise, but the GCSE schoolboy is still at a preliminary stage of his development and needs time to grow before being thrust into the limelight so intensely.

That being said, there is still reason to be excited about Dowman, and Arsenal’s work with young players behind-the-scenes is continuing to pay dividends.

ويواجه ليفربول نظيره آينتراخت فرانكفورت في إطار منافسات الجولة الثالثة من مرحلة الدوري لبطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا غدًا الأربعاء، الموافق 22 من شهر أكتوبر الجاري.

ومن المقرر أن يحل ليفربول ضيفًا على الفريق الألماني مساء الأربعاء المقبل في تمام الساعة العاشرة مساءً بتوقيت القاهرة ومكة المكرمة.

وكان ليفربول قد خسر بثنائية مقابل هدف، أمام مانشستر يونايتد في المباراة التي جمعتهما ضمن منافسات الجولة الثامنة من بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز “بريميرليج”.

ولمدة 4 مباريات متتالية، لم يعرف ليفربول طعم الفوز أو حتى التعادل إذ خسرهم جميعًا في جميع المسابقات، 3 منهم في الدوري الإنجليزي أمام كريستال بالاس وتشيلسي ومانشستر يونايتد، وواحدة في دوري أبطال أوروبا أمام جالطة سراي.

وقال سلوت، في تصريحات نقلها الموقع الرسمي لناديه: “يمكنني ذكر بعض الأسباب الأخرى لأهمية تحقيق نتيجة إيجابية غدًا أيضًا ولكن في كل مرة نلعب فيها مباراة بقميص ليفربول يكون الهدف هو الفوز بتلك المباراة الكروية”.

وأكمل: “الآن نلعب خارج أرضنا ضد فرانكفورت وهو ملعب يُشبه إلى حد ما ملعب جالطة سراي حيث ستكون الجماهير حماسية للغاية، لذلك إلى جانب جودة فرانكفورت، يجب أن نأخذ هذا الأمر في الاعتبار أيضًا لكن لاعبينا معتادون على اللعب في مثل هذه الظروف، إنه تحدي كما هو الحال دائمًا في دوري أبطال أوروبا”.

وأضاف: “كما قلت قبل مباراة يونايتد، لا يهم إن فزنا أو خسرنا مباراة كرة قدم، إن كنت تلعب مع ليفربول سيكون الفوز هو هدفك دائمًا، إن كنت ترتدي هذا القميص، ستكون مطالبًا بتحقيق الفوز في كل مباراة، نريد أن نرى ليفربول يفوز مجددًا، لكن الأمر لا يختلف عندما تخسر 4 مباريات متتالية أو تفوز بـ 4 مباريات متتالية، هذا ما هو متوقع منك إن كنت تلعب مع ليفربول”.

وأردف عن مواجهة فرانكفورت: “نعم، بالتأكيد لا أعتقد أنهم شاركوا بانتظام في دوري أبطال أوروبا لكن الموسم الماضي شاركوا في الدوري الأوروبي ووصلوا إلى مرحلة متقدمة من البطولة، أتذكر أنهم لعبوا ضد توتنهام وكانت مباراة متكافئة للغاية لمدة 180 دقيقة وربما أطول، هذا يدل على أنه فريق جيد، فريق قوي، وقد حقق أداءً رائعًا في الدوري الألماني والأوروبي”.

وعن هوجو إيكتيكي ومواجهة فريقه القديم: “أعتقد أنه أمر مميز له ولكل لاعب بأن يعود إلى ناديه السابق خاصةً إذا كان أداءه جيدًا ولكن حتى لو لم يكن أداءك جيدًا فمن الجيد دائمًا رؤية الأشخاص الذين عملت معهم مرة أخرى”.

واستطرد: “قدم إيكتيكي أداءً جيدًا لدرجة أنني أعتقد أنه ليس فقط يحب العودة إلى هناك بل أعتقد أن الجماهير هناك تحب رؤيته أيضًا لما قدمه للنادي لأنه كان جزءً من الفريق الذي قادهم إلى دوري أبطال أوروبا، إنه أمر خاص بالنسبة له، خاص أيضًا لفلوريان بالعودة إلى ألمانيا واللعب هناك، خاص أيضًا لجيريمي فريمبونج لأنه كان أيضًا مثل فلوريان ومثل هوجو، ناجحًا جدًا في ألمانيا، بالنسبة لهم الثلاثة من الجيد اللعب في ألمانيا مرة أخرى”.

Newcastle join race to sign Brown

As reported by Caught Offside, Newcastle have now joined the race to sign Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt. Joining Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Manchester United in the battle to welcome the German left-back, those in Tyneside should be desperate to finally get one over on their rivals in the transfer market.

Signing another young left-back would certainly make sense following the interest that came Tino Livramento’s way in the summer. Losing the Englishman would be a major blow for Howe, but welcoming Brown would instantly provide the Newcastle boss with a replacement.

Described as a “pacy, flying” left-back by analyst Ben Mattinson back in May, Brown is one to watch in the Bundesliga. Newcastle already dipped into the pool of young German talent to welcome Nick Woltemade in the summer and could do so again to welcome a defensive talent.
